Building homes. Building hope.
Building Saint Louis.

Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization that was founded on the conviction that every person should have a place to live. We are dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and work toward that goal with a comprehensive program in which hard-working St. Louis families invest their time into building, buying, and owning a home. Our volunteers are also an integral part of our program. Each year, around 3,000 volunteers give their time and talent on the build site, in the ReStore, on a committee, or in our office. Join our team as we work to ensure every person in our community has a place to live!

Opportunity Details

ReStore South Side for Individuals

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE SIGNING UP.
Volunteers who show up for a ReStore shift unprepared will be sent home. Volunteers who refuse to follow Habitat guidelines will be sent home and asked not to return.

Volunteers play a vital role in making the ReStore a success. It is extremely important that all scheduled volunteers attend their work day. A shortage of volunteers will negatively impact the ReStore's productivity and efficiency and ultimately, Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis's ability to offer affordable housing options.

Typical ReStore volunteer duties include:
  • Sorting and organizing donations
  • Tidying up merchandise and aisles
  • Light cleaning

Important Notes for ALL Volunteers:

    • Volunteers who refuse to follow safety guidelines will be asked to leave and not return.
  • Please come dressed to work in clothing that you don't mind getting dirty or stained. Closed toe, closed heel shoes are required. ReStore is only moderately heated and cooled throughout the year, so layers are encouraged.

  • We require at least one adult (i.e. persons 21 years old or older) for every 5 youth under the age of 18 years old.
  • Volunteers will need to provide any lunch or snacks they require. Leaving for lunch is not permitted.
